I'm sure they have other avenues from which they gain money too, how do you think they can afford to make these new games and updates, surely not off our measly money.

Not sure, but, developing a game is very expensive, not sure how they are making a profit. Well, of course they have investors and such.

The game makes money only because of its micro transactions. The marketing COSTS money, the server upkeep costs money, the only thing that makes money? The players paying them. ESL might pay them too, but that's debatable / unlikely and it wouldn't have kept the game alive this long (beyond the original contract) if they weren't around until this month.

They are clearly going for short-term instead of long-term. Let me explain.
They released the gold pack to get more money right NOW, they want to milk the game till it's dead then they will start with a new one. They really don't care about the player base as long as they can still milk it they are satisfied.
What they should be doing is pleasing the majority of customers for long-term cash, if they please the customers then they will spend their hard-earned cash more willingly and longer.
That's what I posted in the other thread and that's what I think PWE is doing.

Why has this post been ignored? He's 100% correct. PWE doesnt owe you anything. Youre buying a product, not donating.
|
The concept is this, you do NOT HAVE to spend ANY money on BLR, so by giving them money you are, by all rights, DONATING them money for something neat. Did you have to give them the money to play? No. Did you like the game and want to support? Give them money.
Edit: Anyway, topic got derailed, please only post if you have a serious suggestion for a way for PWE to show that they wish to have our continued support and/or support the petition for such.

You know what i want to see? If you have spent at least $100 on this game, I think there should at least be a discount because we have already spent 100 on the items that are offered in the pack

Why not just have luck off the draw test servers, for example. They host contests and only 10-20 players are chosen to test the future content. Seems like that would help the community more.

I don't even think I agree with opening it up to big spenders, either...
