My issue with the game was the server lag. Unbearable. But I've played at least one good fps over browser plugin and I hear quake live is good. The fps I played was offensive combat.

Quake live is good. I could never get the offensive combat plugin to work.

Warface crashes A LOT too. And it has issues when playing in windowed mode.

So why doesn't Zombie/PWE simply put the updates on Steam? Is there some extra cost involved or do they not want to make two different systems for Steam and non-Steam users?

If you are a high enough lvl then you can rent what you want. So do so. Do you think zombie wants to fill its drives with peoples permed unpaid items? It is a free game that is better then anything most of us players could create. Oh its free.

I'm getting kinda sick of all the "This game is pay to win!" sentiment flying around. No, it isn't. In most other free-to-play games, you have to pay to get ACCESS to the premium content. If you want something that badly, rent it with GP. Chances are in one or two matches you'll have earned back your expenditure, with profit. You've been given a game that can measure up to most 60 dollar titles on the market today for completely free. The developers have to make money SOMEHOW.

Sure, it's irritating that the new guns aren't permanently available for GP. They're still easily accessible to rent. There is nothing in this game that actually has a significant effect on gameplay that you can't access for free. If it were up to me, I'd suggest making each ZEN-only permanent receiver available for GP as new ones are released, starting from the oldest ones. That would probably shut a lot of people up.

This patch was awesome. Added a bunch of new content, most of it great. I'll concede that bad map spawns are a major buzzkill, but for the most part a lot of balance feedback was more or less listened to. That's almost priceless in terms of games that need balancing, so be grateful.

One thing I really like about this patch is that it runs great on my laptop. I used to play at lowest settings with 800x600 resolution and it still lagged. Now I can play with full resolution and it runs smoothly! And this was made possible by a single patch! I don't know how they managed to optimize the game, but this can serve as an example for other developers.

Of course this has its drawbacks, like I used to blame the low framerate for my poor performance in the game. Now I have a good framerate and I still suck. Damn
