Hello everyone,
i recently installed Black light twice now to try and get it to work. I installed it off of steam and it gets to the games launcher and it patched and everything but as soon as i click play the launcher goes away and it won't start the game:/ when the games launcher shows up on screen it says i'm in game blacklight retribution on steam. When i click play on the games launcher it only says im online.

I went to can my pc run it? It said that i could run it better than minimum settings but not quite recommended.

My specs are: Dual Intel 2.0 CPU GHz, Nvidia GTX 260M +1GB, 4 GB RAM, and a 360 GB HDD it's a laptop i made sure my drivers up to date. I also tried going into the games launchers options and click "force verify" didn't work. I also went into blacklights folder and tried to fix things there like it says to do on the forum and that hasn't worked either. Why does this game hate me?!?!?

Most problems with this I saw were solved by running the game EXE directly and/or as administrator.

I tried running it as admin to and that didn't work, before the launcher opens it always asks me if i want to make changes to the computer and i say yes, if this helps??

I had the same problem of the Launcher closing after hitting play and solved it yesterday with a little searching on Google. It appears to be a problem with DirectX installation through Steam. I would link the exact webpage to give credit to the person that found the solution, but I couldn't find it... Anyway, you need to find the DirectX installer inside Steam, there's a manual install app. It should be in this file zone:
Local Disk (C: ) > Program Files (or Program files (x86), depending on the operating system, 32 vs 64 bit if you wanted to know) > Steam > steamapps > common > blacklightretribution > Redist > directx > DXSETUP
running the DXSETUP app should place you through a installation for DirectX, which afterwards should allow you to run the game without trouble. It worked for me at least. Hope this helps!

Of course now the servers are down though -_- haha

Glad it worked! Yeah, the servers are down, that's why I actually went to the forum in the first place... Anyway, hope people find this if they have the same issue, it seems like it has been occurring fairly commonly. Enjoy the game!

My servers are up but it seems like everything is working but my game is slow idk if its my computer or what but it is kind of slow when I start it and very slow once the character screen comes up he moves slow and the mouse is slower can anyone help me? PLZ AND THANK U

the directx from the stream folder gives me an error when I am trying to install it. After checking some logs I found out that my directx version is newer than the steam's one.
My specs are 3.5Ghz x2, 4Gb RAM, HD6850
