I'm looking for an idea what sorta weapon to grab for my first weapon once I get the credits (now I'm giving Blacklight the benifit of the doubht again, I partly ragequit after one too many attacks from nowhere ^^ I'm looking for something dependable at all ranges, but still can be a good kick and accuracy if I want to snipe out someone, considering the stock Assault Rifle takes half a clip to take someone out at 50 yards half the time... As for sidearm, definately thinking shotgun, because boomsticks But wanted to get some opinions before I really set anything in stone with a permament purchase.

Actually the standard AR is the ideal starter weapon. Other weapons might excell at some points, but will also do worse at others. Standard 50dmg AR is the most balanced you can get.

You might want to invest in a decent secondary then, maybe the full auto shotgun "SAR-k" suits your style. That way you can practise with your AR and have something powerfull at close range. It's only 500 zen too, so you can easily get it by doing an hour of surveys or so.

BFR + either machine pistol or old shotgun with enahnced grip.

will make you a good all around fighter.

Best starter weapon is the combat rifle.

Laugh at me all you want but please read why.

If you are new to the game, it will drastically improve your ability to aim. If you continue using it for a long time, it will make your aim extremely good. You'll also have a respectably beefy feeling weapon as opposed to feeling like your gun is a pea-shooter in this strange new world of people who blow your brains out from 5 different angles in less than a quarter of a second.

It'll also get you used to using ADS if you haven't been much into those types of FPSs before. (Ones that require you to aim, as opposed to only hipfire.) Since you can't use it for spraying. (Yes you can get lucky)

Standard advice to newbies: learn to love the Regulator premade. It's about as good as a long-range weapon can get without starting to get significantly weaker in close combat (read: while keeping full auto), at which point you'd need to rent a good secondary which would cost you another 200GP/day, which can be rough if you don't play much and are trying to get to 11k ASAP for that permanent injector/barricade/cloak.

A cheaper option is to perma a good scope (the level 12 Silverwood CONS ELO-Tech is a popular choice; the Lightsky ELO-Tech R.6 is also good but requires level 24) and stick it on the default assault rifle, which is more than capable of putting up a fight at range as long as you learn to tap-fire at the right speed to balance recoil management and fire rate.

I would recommend a Combat Rifle as well.

You don't have to worry about mim aim spread as its default is 0, so if you are gentle with it all of your shots will go exactly where you aim.

Don't worry too much about damage as it will never be as powerful as bolt action. Just build for low recoil and you will have a much easier time hitting targets at range.

I like to go for extended mag and if you have a weapon tag to add to ammo you can get 15/60 rather than 10/40 ammo.
